Do you love children's or YA books and share your love by blogging, video vlogging, podcasting, or something of the kind? If so, the Cybils Awards needs you! In case you missed it, the Cybils Awards put out its call for 2017 judges. Anyone who blogs, vlogs, or podcasts about children's or YA books is encouraged to apply. We extended the deadline to apply to the end of the day today, since some people were unable to apply by the deadline due to disruptions from the hurricane. All categories are still open, but we especially need people in the Audiobooks, Easy Readers/Early Chapter Books, and Nonfiction Junior/Senior High categories.
The Cybils Awards were founded in 2006, and since then have annually recognized the best children's and YA books of the year, judged on our twin criteria of kid appeal and literary merit. Anyone can nominate books, then panels of expert judges choose first finalists, then winners in each categories. We are well-respected and widely recognized throughout the children's book world.
