Brave New Girls: Tales of Girls and Gadgets

Brave New Girls: Tales of Girls and Gadgets

edited by Paige Daniels and Mary Fan
ISBN: 9781512325614

Brave New Girls is an anthology of YA stories featuring teen girls in STEM roles. Here you'll find a lively collection of teen hackers, tinkerers, mathematicians, and scientists, all of whom happen to be female. These girls are fearless, whether they're uncovering corruption, fighting a rogue AI, helping oppressed robots, or just looking out for their families. This is a solid, well-written, and enjoyable collection of stories. Editors Paige Daniels and Mary Fan did an outstanding job with the selection and editing. Although the collection is clearly targeted towards girls, it could be equally enjoyed by boys who aren't put off by a girl on the cover.

Brave New Girls was a 2015 Cybils nominee.
